User reviews

TrelloExport is valued for exporting detailed Trello data including checklists, comments, and archived items, surpassing Trello's default export. Users appreciate its simplicity and ability to produce Excel and HTML files. However, common issues include occasional failure to load data, inability to export custom fields, missing cards in exports, and exported Excel files requiring repairs. Lack of filtering for checklist items by completion status is also noted. Overall, it is a powerful tool but with some stability and feature gaps affecting reliability for some users.
Pros
  • Exports checklists and checklist items, including details like completion status and responsible users, which Trello's default export lacks.
  • Allows export of archived items, unlike Trello's own export feature.
  • Produces various export formats such as Excel and HTML with images.
  • Simple to use and effective for backing up Trello data.
  • Stands out by including more detailed data (e.g., checklists and comments) than many other export tools.
Cons
  • Occasional issues with exporting custom fields, which some users need but is not supported.
  • Some users experience the extension getting stuck at 'Loading data, please wait...' causing it to be unusable.
  • Exported Excel files sometimes open with repair warnings, raising doubts about file integrity.
  • Missing some cards, especially archived ones, for certain users indicating incomplete exports.
  • No filtering options to export checklist items based on their checked or unchecked status, limiting some use cases.

Stays blocked loading data. Doesn't work for me.

It works, sort of. When you start the export, Chrome wants to kill the tab. I let it run for about 5 minutes, after which I got an Excel file. When you open it, Excel says it's a broken file and does some repairing. The file looks normal after the repair but I'm not 100% confident everything is there. But better than nothing.

Currently nonfunctional/dead? Gets stuck on "Loading data, please wait..." forever. Tried on a single small board with no fancy settings or custom fields.
