What is MS Doc Link?
'MS Doc Link' is a versatile Chrome extension designed to boost the management of Microsoft Office document links. It offers several actions including opening online, in edit mode or protected mode, downloading the file and more, all at a click. You can personalize left mouse click actions on document links as per your convenience. This tool provides link history, clipboard action customization, creating favourites from history, and grants access to a history of the last 20 entries. A significant feature is storage sync to Google account while keeping history/favorites confined to local storage.

This Extension provides several options for handling/opening Microsoft Office Documents. In the default mode you can only open the documents via opening the context menu on a hyperlink on a web page, which points to either a Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Visio file.

You can however use several other options via the Extension menu (click on the icon)

The usable options are the following: => activate a link history Each time a document link is opened a history entry is created. (The history can be accessed via the extension menu or via the context menu action)

=> Choose a custom action for a left mouse click on a document link

  • Open in protected mode (Desktop application)
  • Open in edit mode (Desktop application)
  • Download file

This is so great I can finally somewhat force Edge to open Office documents from SharePoint etc, in a desktop app! :-) Finally i can avoid the webapps, much easier,, why does Microsoft "forces" us to use the watered down web apps, they suck in comparisons with the desktop apps.
