🌿 BONSAI — A SHADOW ON PAPER
A pine branch falls as a soft shadow across a washi paper screen. Nothing on the dial moves but the vermilion second hand, and the empty paper on the left is as much a part of the picture as the branch on the right.

🎨 FOUR PAPERS
Kinari (unbleached), Shironeri (bleached white), Kohaku (amber) and Aizumi (dusk indigo). Each one recolours the paper and the shadow together, so the dial always reads as a single sheet.

⌚ ANALOG OR DIGITAL
Switch between black hands with a smoothly sweeping vermilion second hand, and a large centred digital time. The markers, the date and the data slots stay where they are, so the character of the face never changes.

Optimised for always-on display. The paper steps aside and the hands and hour markers stay in bone white on black, readable at a glance while the screen stays gentle on battery.
