Shoji Japanese Watch Face

WabiFace Shoji brings the quiet geometry of a Japanese paper screen to your Wear OS smartwatch.

🪟 KUMIKO AND WASHI
A lattice of smoked wood floats above a sheet of washi paper lit from behind. Every strip casts its own shadow onto the paper, and two diagonal bays are packed with fine asanoha star joinery. The open bays of the lattice are the instruments.

🔢 NUMERALS ONLY
Everything the watch face itself draws is digits — no words to translate, no language to pick. The date shows the day number above a row of seven marks with today inked, so the weekday reads without reading. (Text inside a complication comes from whichever app you assign to it.)

- Heart rate
- Battery, drawn from the watch's own charge so the gauge and the number can never disagree

- Step goal progress along the top channel

➕ FOUR OPEN SLOTS
Four bays are left blank for you. Two of them are sized for app shortcuts and start with a ＋ — tap it, choose an app, and it lives on your dial. The other two are slim channels along the left and right edges. Assign steps, weather, a timer, a contact, anything your watch offers.

🖐 FOUR HAND COLORS
Kurogane blackened steel with an indigo sweep second, plus white, red and blue. Hour, minute and second change together.

🕐 HANDS OR DIGITS
A single switch turns the center bay into a large digital time, or gives it back to the hands. Choose whichever you read faster.

🌙 AMBIENT MODE
The paper is bright, so ambient mode drops it entirely rather than dimming it — a black ground with only the time, to protect the display and the battery.
