IDEA Identity Easy Access

IDEA Identity Easy Access is an advanced Android app designed by the State Printing and Mint Institute to securely read and verify RFID chips embedded in electronic travel documents, such as ePassports, electronic ID cards, and residence permits. It uses NFC technology and complies with ICAO 9303 standards to scan the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) optically, retrieve access keys, and perform security validations to confirm document authenticity.

The application ensures that the personal data stored in the chip matches the printed data visible on the document, helping document holders verify their electronic credentials are functioning properly and are genuine. Currently optimized for electronic documents issued by the Italian State, future updates will extend support to foreign-issued documents.
