CTRLbot IoT Android

CTRLbot IoT

Configure and control compatible professional AV systems from Android.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

CTRLbot IoT turns an Android phone or tablet into a standalone control system for compatible professional AV equipment. Configure, test, automate, and operate a room from the device in your hand—without a separate CTRLbot control processor.

Built for AV installers, integrators, technicians, and system developers, CTRLbot brings device setup, live command testing, room activities, and a simplified End User Interface together in one app.

Configure and test equipment

- Search a bundled catalog of drivers for projectors, displays, switchers, matrix routers, and compatible endpoints.
- Create connections using device addresses, ports, models, protocols, and secure credential references.
- Send commands in real time and view sent and received data in the built-in terminal.
- Copy, edit, search, and manage saved device connections.

Build room activities

- Create multi-device presets with commands and delays.
- Review automatically prepared Power On and Power Off sequences for devices with discrete power commands.
- Configure Many-to-One source selection or Many-to-Many matrix routing.
- Map supported volume, speaker mute, and microphone mute controls.

Operate through the End User Interface

After setup, switch to a simplified full-screen interface for everyday room operation. Available controls are generated from the equipment, commands, routes, and audio mappings configured for that system.

Supported control methods

- Raw TCP, Telnet, and SSH for compatible network equipment
- RS-232 serial control through compatible Global Cache endpoints
- IR control through compatible Global Cache endpoints

Telnet is unencrypted, so CTRLbot displays a warning before connecting. SSH host keys are verified and stored locally.

Local-first design

Room configuration is stored on the Android device. Credentials are encrypted locally using Android Keystore-backed storage, and device-control traffic goes directly to the addresses you configure. CTRLbot IoT does not include advertising, analytics, or user tracking.

Optional CTRLbot AI help, manufacturer pages, and product pages require internet access. Core device control does not pass through CTRLbot servers.

Compatibility notes

A compatible driver and reachable control path are required. Available features depend on the commands supported by the selected driver and equipment. Always verify connections and commands with the real equipment before handoff. RS-232 and IR installations require compatible network endpoints.
