TEL-U BOT Android

TEL-U BOT

Control, monitor, configure and plan the TEL-U BOT robot via Wi-Fi.

Overview

Features & Capabilities

TEL-U BOT is a companion app for controlling, monitoring, configuring, and testing the TEL-U BOT robot directly from an Android device.

The app communicates with the ESP32 over a local Wi-Fi network, allowing users to view the robot's status and send commands without requiring a cloud service.

KEY FEATURES

- Connect the app to the TEL-U BOT robot via local Wi-Fi.
- Control the robot's speed, direction, and actuators.
- Monitor the robot's telemetry and sensor status.
- View line sensor data, LiDAR, odometry, and robot status.
- Set robot configuration and parameters.
- Run the calibration process.
- Create a Master Planner and Sub-Planner.
- Set Triggers, Actions, and Configs for each planner.
- Display sensor combination animations for the Trigger Line.
- Select detection sensors for the Action Motor Till.
- Set the buzzer tone sequence and listen to a preview through the phone speaker.
- Read planners stored on the robot.
- Write a planner from the application to the robot.
- Test a sub-planner from the application draft.
- Test a sub-planner stored in the robot's EEPROM.
- Test a planner range in RACE or LOOP mode.
- Save a draft planner locally.
- Import and export planner backups in JSON format.

ROBOT PLANNER

The Planner menu uses an easy-to-follow flow:

1. Select the Master Planner.
2. Select or add a sub-planner.
3. Set the trigger, action, and configuration.
4. Write the planner to the robot.
5. Run the test directly from the application.

Test Draft allows users to test planner changes without writing them to the EEPROM. Test EEPROM runs data already stored on the robot. Users can also run multiple planners sequentially using Test Master Range.

LOCAL COMMUNICATION

TEL-U BOT communicates directly with the robot over the local Wi-Fi network using UDP. Control data, telemetry, configuration, and planner data are not sent to the developer's servers.

The app can continue to communicate with the robot's Wi-Fi when cellular data is active, as long as the Android device maintains a connection to the robot's Wi-Fi network.

STORAGE AND BACKUP

The draft planner is stored on the app's internal storage. Users can export the planner as a JSON file for backup or re-import it when needed.

The JSON file is only created or read after the user selects the file location using the Android document picker.

SAFETY NOTES

The robot can move when receiving control commands or executing the planner. Before testing:

- Ensure the area around the robot is safe.
- Lift the wheels when testing the planner for the first time.
- Use the Stop button to stop the test.
- Ensure motor and sensor configurations are correct.
- Do not use the robot unattended.

The TEL-U BOT is designed specifically for compatible TEL-U BOT robot devices. Feature availability depends on the robot's firmware version and hardware configuration.
