We wanted to do something different. Get rid of the noise and put it fully in your hands. From how it looks to the core functions, it's controlled by what you want on there.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
Post text, images, polls, GIFs, and 3D models that render right in the browser (.glb, .gltf, .obj, .stl, .fbx, .3mf supported).
Write proper long-form articles with a full WYSIWYG editor. Headings, images, footnotes, the lot. Not a 280 character box.
Open any post as a structured debate with for, against, and challenge sides. Cite your sources. Credit the argument that actually changed your mind.
React on a 2D field that captures both how strongly you feel and how well argued you think something is, so a sharp unpopular opinion doesn't get buried like a lazy take.
Read the shape of a room. Vote distributions render as a coloured wave on each post.
Send end-to-end encrypted direct messages. The server only ever sees ciphertext, and messages are deleted once the recipient reads them.
Search a human-curated web index where other users submit links and vote on results. Pages someone actually found useful, not SEO sludge.
Build Lists that turn posts or accounts into a single subscribable feed.
Pick up old conversations. Comment threads surface late activity, so a good reply on an older post can revive the discussion.
Customise everything. Pick which widgets sit in your sidebar, set your own per-community quality threshold, swap themes, rearrange the mobile nav.
ARCADE
A small built-in arcade with leaderboards, currently in beta:
Breakout. Classic brick breaker with power-ups, combo multipliers, and a sticky paddle mode.
Reflex. Click targets before they fade. Quick, bonus, and bomb types stacked with a speed ramp.
Swarm. Roguelike top-down shooter. Twelve stacking mods, a boss every five waves, dive bombers, snipers, and proximity bombers.
Acorn Clicker. Idle game with progressive building unlocks and a clicker loop.

Create an account free. You get 30 days of full access to everything, no card required.
After that you can keep using Quarrel with limited functionality, or subscribe for full ongoing access. Subscriptions are how the site stays ad-free.
WHAT WE DON'T DO
No ads. Not banner ads, not native ads, not sponsored posts.
No third-party analytics. No tracking pixels. No profiles built on you. No selling your data. No sharing with data brokers. No AI training on what you post.
No rage-bait ranking. The feed is chronological by default. You can sort by score if you want, but Quarrel never optimises for engagement at any cost.
Email addresses are encrypted at rest. DMs are encrypted end-to-end. You can delete your account at any time from settings or from quarrel.ing/account-deletion.
Built for people who want to think out loud, change their minds, and meet others who do the same. If you want infinite-scroll dopamine, this is not the app. If you want substantive conversation that doesn't make you feel worse afterwards, give it a go.
