Microsoft Authenticator Apple

Microsoft Authenticator

Protects your online identity

Features & Capabilities

Microsoft Authenticator enables easy, secure sign-ins across accounts using MFA, passwordless login, or password autofill. You can add multiple accounts, including non-Microsoft services, and use time-based one-time passwords (OTP) that work offline and don’t drain your battery.

For personal, work, or school accounts, you can register your device with your organization, enable certificate-based authentication, and access Microsoft apps and services securely without needing to sign in repeatedly.

User Reviews

User reviews are largely negative. The most frequent issues are circular sign-in loops that require approving in the Authenticator to sign into the app itself, and failures to deliver or generate codes. Many users report unreliable cross-device syncing and difficulties migrating data when switching devices or platforms. Lockouts and poor recovery options further complicate access, along with unclear or unhelpful error messages. A few reviewers say it’s easy to use when it works, but overall reliability issues dominate feedback.
Pros
  • Easy to use / user-friendly (noted as "Superb app easy to use")
  • Good (positive brief feedback)
Cons
  • Circular login loop that requires approving in the Authenticator app to sign into the app
  • Codes are not delivered or accessible; cannot obtain authentication codes
  • Unreliable cross-device syncing and difficulties migrating data between devices/platforms
  • Getting locked out of accounts and limited recovery options
  • Poor or unclear error messaging and user guidance

Always gets in the way when work needs done. It prevents employees from work and like all Microsoft products it’s buggy and seems more like a beta version than an actual product.

Keeps raking for my phone to log on and then says it’s wrong. It’s not. Super freaking frustrating. Can’t find anyone to help me. Was on hold for an hour after two other calls and finally hung up. The repeated music was making me crazy. Still no resolution
