User Reviews

Skelly is a strong anatomy reference tool with useful lighting/angle controls and an intuitive UI, valued for anatomy study and drawing, including use with Proko courses. However, recurring drawbacks include non-poseable hands/fingers and jaw, limited joint and spine articulation causing stiff poses, absence of a female model, problematic camera distortion without focal-length control, and missing export options (no transparent PNGs). Overall it’s recommended with caveats and hopes for updates.
Pros
  • Strong anatomy reference for drawing the head, skulls, and the human form
  • Lighting and angle controls improve realism and usefulness of references
  • Intuitive, easy-to-use posing system and UI
  • Helpful for studying anatomy and compatible with Proko anatomy course
  • Widely perceived as good value for the price by many users
Cons
  • Hands, fingers, and jaw are not poseable, significantly limiting poses and detail
  • Limited joints and no thoracic spine articulation lead to stiff or unrealistic poses
  • No female model and limited body variations reduce applicability
  • Significant camera distortion with no focal-length control (wide-angle feel)
  • Export options are missing (cannot export transparent PNGs; requires screenshots; limited background handling)

This is a fab app. Incredibly helpful and worth every penny. That said, I wish for the following: Undo last move button Rules of physics toggle (no skull in the pelvis sort of thing) Center Skelly with light or dark side up Articulated fingers/ hand only mode I truly do recommend this app for sure. My UI/X brain just never shuts off, and those are 4 things I didn’t have and needed within the first 10 minutes of using Skelly.

This is super helpful if you’re an artist and have a hard time finding the perfect reference photo. Though I do wish you could pose the jaw bone and the individual fingers on the model, that would make this perfect. Overall it’s worth it though!

For $7 I expected there to be more 30 poses. Also the hands and feet do not articulate correctly in these poses. This is a scam. Don’t waste your money
