User Reviews

Source Audio Neuro 3 reviews repeatedly cite stability and connectivity problems on mobile: constant pedal connections issues, crashes, and unreliable preset burning. UI changes introduce readability and precision concerns, and account/login problems exacerbate access. Some praise the new visuals and the desktop editor’s usefulness, but overall the mobile app is seen as unreliable and in need of substantial fixes to deliver consistent, platform-wide performance.
Pros
  • The Neuro 3 update is praised by some for a more visually appealing UI and easier navigation.
  • The desktop editor/version is seen as a capable and robust alternative when mobile is not reliable.
  • When functioning, the app enables deeper pedal tweaking and preset management beyond basic hardware controls.
Cons
  • Frequent pedal connectivity issues across multiple devices (C4, Ventris, Nemesis) including frequent connections failures and random disconnects, plus difficulties burning/writing presets.
  • Stability problems and crashes, especially on startup or login, with reports of the app becoming unresponsive.
  • UI/UX regressions and readability problems in Neuro 3 (knobs replacing sliders, reduced precision in parameter values, tiny or hard-to-read labels, poor use of screen space).
  • Account creation/login problems (inability to create an account, freezing during sign-up).
  • Feature regressions or removals (e.g., limited/blocked preview of community presets, unreliable preset naming and visibility, inconsistent across platforms).
  • Cross-device reliability issues (mobile apps lag behind desktop performance; iPad/iPhone experiences vary).
Recent reviews
Source Audio would sell a lot more of these if they did a tutorial for guitar players on how to program synthesizers. The C4 is an amazing synthesizer, but the default sounds are unremarkable and the sounds online aren't very musical. Were it not for the bass player who did a decent demo on programming, I would have sold my C4. Now I hold onto hope that I can learn to program well enough to craft some good sounds--because they are definitely in there.
