Features & Capabilities

Rewind automatically tracks your time based on your location. Set up your important places and it runs in the background, so you can focus on tasks while it records your hours across work, clients, gym, home, and your favorite cafés.

Get insights with statistics and reports. The Pro version adds Excel/Numbers reports and backups and lets you track up to 20 places, while the free version starts with one location. The extension also supports pushing time intervals to calendars (like iCloud) for seamless scheduling.

User Reviews

Overall, users praise Rewind for focused, easy-to-use time-at-location tracking and reliability, plus export/share options and a one-time price. The most common drawbacks are inconsistent location accuracy, bugs tied to iOS updates, and reporting gaps in charts and calendar export. Some note free-tier limitations and uneven support. Despite occasional reliability issues, many reviewers still find it valuable for work or personal time management when it runs smoothly.
Pros
  • Simple, focused time-at-location tracking that does exactly what it promises.
  • Long-term reliability; consistently solid performance over years.
  • Practical usefulness for work and personal time tracking (e.g., hours, mileage).
  • Data export/share capabilities (export to Excel/Numbers, AirDrop).
  • One-time purchase price with lightweight background operation and minimal battery impact.
Cons
  • Location data often inaccurate or incomplete; misses places or times.
  • Bugs and reliability issues tied to iOS updates causing crashes, data loss, or stopped tracking.
  • Reporting limitations and inconsistencies in charts (non-tracked time not counted; weekly vs daily discrepancies).
  • Calendar integration and exporting notes sometimes broken (write-to-calendar issues; calendar permission bugs).
  • Free version limitations and occasional feature restrictions; concerns about location caps and pro features.

This app just does what it says. Been using it for many years now and it’s just super useful. Would love to have a way to tip or give some more back to the dev as this has been a great one-time purchase. EDIT: Many years in, this app is still rock solid and useful. 5 stars for sure and never a pain.

I don’t think it makes the dev money, but I love this and glad they maintain it.

Not sure the point of a free version apparently, as I would expect it to work. Only way to add a monitoring point is to use the locate icon, and then it worked. But you could not go to a place on the map, tap, and have it geofence that area. LAME. At least it was free.
