User Reviews

The SMACom Wi-Fi Photo Transfer app receives mixed feedback. Many users praise it as awesome, useful, and life-simplifying for photo transfers when it works. However, repeated issues include reliability problems, dependency on Wi‑Fi to function, and confusing pricing with an upfront charge after a trial. A few reviewers also point to misleading advertising regarding video support. Overall, it’s seen as promising but inconsistent and pricing‑concerning.
Pros
  • Overall positive reception: reviewers describe the app as AWESOME, really good, or Love this app.
  • Perceived convenience: multiple reviews say it makes photo transfer easier and helps life/everyday tasks for users and their friends.
  • Some users report usable performance when connectivity (Wi‑Fi) is available, suggesting it can work smoothly under proper conditions.
Cons
  • Reliability issues: many reviews claim the app doesn’t work or does nothing, indicating unreliable performance.
  • Wi‑Fi dependency: several comments state the app requires Wi‑Fi to even start or operate, and that it fails without it.
  • Pricing & upgrade confusion: users complain about an upfront $29.95 cost after a 15‑day free trial and unclear upgrade/policies.
  • Advertising vs reality: one review notes the app advertised photo and video support but currently handles only photos.

Totally useless, what a shame for Nikon

It's just a con! Sure, the app is free for your phone, but you got to pay $29.95 USD (Amazon)to keep it going after the15 day free trial. They should tell us that UPFRONT in BOLD PRINT BEFORE we download the app to our phones. But they know that most of us would not bother wasting our time for something for only 2 weeks, if we knew we would get gouged for almost 30 bucks! Shame on you, Media Navi!
