User Reviews

mobilePDR offers detailed, subscription-free drug information that many users value on mobile. However, usability and readability problems persist, especially in dark mode with low contrast. Users also report glitches in searches and data entry (e.g., incorrect auto-fill, pill identification failures). The app’s landscape-only orientation when a keyboard is attached adds friction, and maintenance/responsiveness appears inconsistent. Overall, the content is strong, but UI/compatibility and upkeep require substantial fixes.
Pros
  • Detailed pharmacology information including pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics
  • Free access with no subscriptions
  • Valuable resource for medical professionals and students
  • Information is readily accessible on mobile and at work
Cons
  • Poor readability in dark mode due to low-contrast, dark-on-dark text and incompatibility with iOS dark mode
  • Frequent bugs and reliability issues such as incorrect drug auto-fill, 'No Result Found' searches, and pill identification failures
  • Inconvenient orientation requirements (landscape-only use when a keyboard is attached) which hampers usability
  • Perceived lack of ongoing maintenance or timely updates/responses from developers
