the simplest logbook divers

Features & Capabilities

The Diving Logbook: Dive Number is the simplest mobile logbook for divers. It lets you add unlimited dives and capture essential details with quick taps: date, dive site (from a map or added by you), depth, gas mixture (air or nitrox), ballast, temperature, visibility, and notes.

It also provides useful statistics on the main screen, supports adding new dive sites to grow the map, and tracks gear usage and total dive time for easy review. Designed for lightweight logging on the go, it invites user feedback and aims to simplify the dive logging process.

User Reviews

Users praise the app's visual design, ease of use, and ability to add dive sites, plus responsive developer support. However, recurring problems include data loss or saving failures after updates, rigid numeric entry and unit handling, reliability issues with errors, and gaps in location management (adding new spots and exporting coordinates). Overall, strong UX and support are offset by data integrity risks and feature gaps that updates should address.
Pros
  • Visually appealing, easy-to-use interface.
  • Easy to add dive sites and manage dive entries.
  • Responsive support and quick bug fixes from developers.
Cons
  • Upgrade-related data loss or dives not saving after updates.
  • Inflexible numeric input and unit handling (cannot enter exact numbers; limited increments; unit mismatches).
  • Reliability issues and confusing error messages/not intuitive flows.
  • Location management limitations (difficulty adding new dive spots; lack of coordinate export/copy).

Update: tech support very friendly and they were able to recover my account. I wish I didn't have to go through all this to recover my dives, but I am grateful it was possible. I just updated this app because. I dove for the first time in a few years and wanted to update it to fix a few bugs. I lost EVERYTHING after the update. I’ve tried resetting my email but they don’t have a user associated with either one of my emails. I’m so frustrated!!!

If this application would work, it would be nice. Good design and options to record your dives, but it is not saving. Please, fix the problem. Thanks!!
