User Reviews

Dive Log is highly praised for cross-device syncing, extensive data and analytics, broad dive-computer compatibility, and strong developer support. Users find it intuitive and reliable, with features like trip templates and dive-site maps. Some recurring drawbacks include UI/UX friction, occasional bugs in marine-life logging, GPS save issues, and limited Apple Watch integration.
Pros
  • Excellent cross-device synchronization across iPhone, iPad, and Mac (often via iCloud), keeping logs safe and up to date.
  • Rich, feature-packed logging: supports air/nitrox/trimix, trip templates, dive-site maps, buddies and equipment tracking, and detailed graphs/stats.
  • Broad compatibility with multiple dive computers and automatic data import from devices and transmitters.
  • Active, responsive developer support and regular updates with new devices and features.
  • Simple, intuitive UI that makes it easy to access past dives and manage data reliably.
Cons
  • UI/UX can feel non-intuitive and logging often requires more steps than expected (logging workflow friction).
  • GPS/location features are not reliable for saving dive sites and can be cumbersome to use.
  • Marine life logging can be buggy or flaky in some cases.
  • Apple Watch integration is limited or not fully supported yet; users want better watch syncs.
  • Syncing sometimes requires manual push/fetch and isn’t always seamless.

As far as I am concerned, this is the best log book app for both recreational and advanced divers. It allows you input air, nitrox, and trimix data. It also syncs with multiple brands or dive computers, while others apps are brand specific. I am going to warn everyone: back up your dive logs. For a couple years I made periodic saves to icloud, and at some point got complacent and stopped making backups. I eventually broke my phone and lost years of data. Don’t be like me. I love this app. 10/10. Good customer support as well.

Been using this app for 5+ years and still the only app I use. I’m on my 3rd upgraded dive computer and each one works perfectly with the Bluetooth. This is really the only dive log you need!

This app does everything I could possibly ask from a dive log app, and the support I’ve received on trying to get all my stuff synced has been beyond unbelievable.
