User Reviews

Duet Display is popular for turning an iPad into a second monitor with easy setup, retina-quality output, and useful touch gestures, plus responsive support. However, many reviews complain about the shift to a subscription model, lag and instability, connectivity issues, and a weaker position compared with Apple’s Sidecar/Universal Control. The free tier is limited, and onboarding prompts can push users toward subscribing. Overall, it’s valued for its concept and convenience but hampered by pricing, performance, and compatibility concerns.
Pros
  • Turns iPad into a second monitor / extended display
  • Easy to connect / quick setup
  • Retina-quality display with 60 Hz options
  • Touch gestures on iPad for scrolling and tapping
  • Responsive customer support that helped resolve issues
Cons
  • Subscription model replaces a one-time purchase; ongoing monthly/yearly fees
  • Laggy performance, especially for precise / creative work
  • Reliability issues: frequent disconnects, freezes, and occasional crashes
  • Often compared unfavorably to Sidecar / Universal Control; limited to a single iPad and requires a paid plan
  • Free/basic version is time-limited and onboarding/subscription prompts can feel intrusive

Now just a greedy cash grab with bs accounts and all kinds of hoops and bloatware. The point of this app was to support old equipment to use as another monitor. They no longer do this. They completely lost their way.

Works very smooth. Absolutely no delays or lags. Literally ended up saving hundreds of dollar I would have spent on a new screen.
