User Reviews

Users praise Mr. Chilly for its simple, clean UI and fast performance, with neighborhood-level SF/Bay Area temps enabling easy daily planning. The app’s core value is showing microclimate differences across the city, which many users find highly accurate and essential for outfits and outings. Common drawbacks are its Bay Area focus (limited outside SF), incomplete map accuracy (labels and some areas like Treasure Island less reliable), and missing data/forecast features (precipitation, weekly forecast) or missing regions (Marin County, Milpitas).
Pros
  • Simple, clean, intuitive UI (no ads)
  • Accurate, neighborhood‑level SF/Bay Area temperatures
  • Very useful for planning daily activities and outfits across Bay Area microclimates
  • Covers many neighborhoods and makes it easy to compare temperatures across the Bay Area
  • Fast loading and visually appealing (looks nice)
Cons
  • Not useful outside the SF/Bay Area (regional focus)
  • Map accuracy issues: microclimate labeling/placement can be off (e.g., Hayes Valley vs Financial District) and some areas are missing (Treasure Island)
  • Lacks precipitation data and a clear way to view weekly/forecast (futurecast) features
  • Missing nearby areas (Marin County, Milpitas) which limits coverage
  • Requests for added features (real-time fog overlay, more towns) and some UI changes to access forecasts

I like it

Great app, simple, intuitive interface. If I had one small piece of feedback it’s the placement of Downtown SF. Right now it’s hard to tell the difference between Hayes Valley and Financial District - which are fairly different microclimates.
