User Reviews

User sentiment is polarized: long-time users praised the app’s simplicity, reminders, and health benefits, including Apple Watch support and charts. However, many reviews complain about the major update that switched to a subscription, locked essential features behind paywall, and caused data/history loss. Sign-up/login issues and broken support exacerbate frustration. The redesign’s cluttered interface and cat-themed visuals upset longtime users preferring the old simple UI. Some still praise reminders and potential benefits but feel the value proposition and reliability have degraded.

Pros

Intuitive, easy-to-use interface for tracking water intake.
Helpful reminders and gentle notifications to stay hydrated.
Valuable features like progress charts, customizable goals, and Apple Watch support.
Free version is functional with an affordable Pro/ad-free option.
Has helped users build healthy hydration habits and feel better.

Cons

Major update introduced a subscription/paywall, locking core features behind a paywall.
Data/history from years of use can be lost after updates.
Sign-up/login errors and poor or unresponsive support hinder access.
UI redesign is cluttered and removes the simplicity longtime users liked (cat theme is off-putting).
Perceived high price for Pro (around $40/year) and questions about value.

I used to enjoy using this app, but then it was “updated” and I can’t really use it. I’d like to end my subscription. I’ve tried looking for my Visa info to remove it before renewal but can’t find it. I’ve tried deleting my account but get “error internal”. I’ve emailed iHydrate three times but no response. Am I stuck with this? Should I delete to app from everywhere one my iPhone? I really don’t want to change my Visa because it’ll mean I have to change the info on every business I use online…a big hassle.
