User Reviews

Users value iGenii for mobile access to Genii and Magic, offline reading, easy navigation, and rich back-issue archives, with extra features like embedded links and videos. However, stability and UX are consistently criticized: frequent crashes and slow performance; the app often forgets the last read position; finding older issues is cumbersome; and long gaps between updates suggest neglect. Content loading and login problems also appear. Overall, the content is strong, but reliability and archival navigation need significant improvement for a consistently satisfying experience.
Pros
  • Easy-to-use interface and smooth navigation within issues.
  • Offline viewing for reading without a connection.
  • Access to all back issues and archives (Genii and Magic Magazine).
  • Convenience of reading on mobile devices without carrying physical copies.
  • Enhanced reading with links, embedded videos, and other extras.
Cons
  • Frequent crashes and slow/unresponsive performance.
  • Fails to remember the last read position (issue/page) when re-opening.
  • Archive navigation is cumbersome; hard to find older issues.
  • App appears outdated and not updated for long periods.
  • Content access problems: some issues don’t load, login/server connectivity issues, and missing/mislisted Magic issues.

I appreciate being able to read Genii & Magic on my iPhone. The reason I didn’t give the app 5 stars is that I’d like to have an easier way to get to specific back-issues, like the menu Genii has on their website. I’ve never had a problem, however, with the loading speed of any issue I’ve tried to access.

Great up for a great magazine. Easy to use, has offline viewing, various interface options for reading, and other features.

…by throwing it out and starting over. Whoever designs this thing has clearly never used an iPad, or even a Kindle.
