User Reviews

Users largely praise Notevision for teaching sight-reading, ease of use, and good value. It’s beginner-friendly with customizable note ranges and bar counts, and supports treble and bass clef reading. Recurrent downsides include missing key signatures for customization, unreliable microphone input for real-pInstrument use, and occasional notation/registration bugs. Some reviews also request multi-note/chord practice and timing/metronome features to broaden practice. Overall, strong for basic single-note sight-reading with room to grow.
Pros
  • Helps learn sight reading and improves music-reading ability.
  • Easy to use and beginner-friendly; motivates regular practice.
  • Affordable with good value; no heavy subscriptions.
  • Customizable practice options (note range, number of bars, etc.) for targeted sessions.
  • Supports treble and bass clef reading, expanding practice across staves.
Cons
  • Missing key signatures for custom exercises (e.g., Gb major) and general lack of key-signature support.
  • Microphone input is unreliable when using a real instrument, with notes sometimes not detected.
  • Notation/registration bugs (accidentals and some notes) can mark correct notes as wrong.
  • Limited to single-note practice; lacks multi-note/chord practice and timing features (metronome).

This is a good app especially to write and practice sheet music but can you make the violin feature free just like the piano sheet music just make some certain lessons of it free but either way it’s a excellent app would recommend to anyone planning to download it.
