Universal Zoom - Science Guide

Universe Scale & Comparison

Features & Capabilities

Universal Zoom is an ad-free, multilingual science guide that makes vast scales feel tangible. It lets you scroll through visuals, compare sizes (Earths in Jupiter, viruses to skyscrapers), and enjoy jargon-free explanations, with optional audio narration.

Built by a small Canadian team, the app covers Planck length to the observable universe with 270+ objects across Physics, Biology, and Astronomy. It supports educators with a ready-to-use classroom visual tool, invites community-suggested content, and continuously evolves with your feedback.

User Reviews

Universal Zoom is widely praised for its educational value, expansive size comparisons, and ad-free experience. Reviewers highlight its broad celestial catalog and accessible audio features, while repeatedly asking for more content (notably multiverse concepts) and better language support. A few typos were noted. Overall, it’s a strong, engaging science learning tool that benefits from ongoing updates.
Pros
  • Highly educational and helps users grasp the scale of the universe, from tiny particles to cosmic structures.
  • Extensive content with a wide range of objects and ongoing updates (galaxies, nebulae, and more) for continued learning.
  • Visually engaging presentation and clearly organized information that enhances learning.
  • Audio accessibility options, including text-to-speech voices with multiple accents, and adjustable text size and measurement units.
  • No ads or subscriptions; no in-app purchases.
Cons
  • Limited language support; multiple reviewers request Chinese and Russian language options.
  • Desire for even more content, especially multiverse concepts and additional galaxies, nebulae, and other objects.
  • Occasional typos/labeling issues (kingdom vs. kindom and NML Cygni phrasing) mentioned by a couple of reviews.

What date in June will you start working on the next update for Universal Zoom? Also, you said you would focus on elementary particles and other new objects in the next update besides particles.

Can you add some things like: IC 1101, Sombrero Galaxy, an apple, banana, a child, a laptop, Walmart, Sam’s Club, a Rubik’s Cube (solved and hijacked), an infant, Planet 9, bring back Giga Nevada, and a Boeing 747 please? Oh and one more question: How do I set it to Russian? One more thing: In Peacock Mantis Shrimp, it says kindom instead of kingdom! Please fix that! Your app is really good! I love the text to speech voices! My favourite part is the planets, stars, galaxies, and the universe! Another typo is in NML Cygni. It says, “NML Cygni or is.” 😅 Edit: here’s a quick suggestion - can you make the black holes (not all of them; up to you) look swirly, think it would look more… UniversalZoom style 👌🏽 I got the idea for the Youtube channel “Red Side.” There are universe size comparisons and black hole size comparisons and everything in between. You can watch those videos to find the black holes. Again, like I said, it’s totally up to you.
