Features & Capabilities

Cosmic Eye is a visualization tool for education that lets you zoom from the largest cosmic scales down to subatomic particles, using a preset image and extreme zoom factors. It reveals the structure of the universe from galaxies to atoms, helping students and curious minds grasp scale and connection.

Where possible, it displays real photographs captured with modern telescopes and microscopes; when not available, it provides scientifically informed renderings and computer models. Inspired by Powers of Ten, the app offers a continuous, awe-inspiring view of scale to encourage exploration and curiosity.

User Reviews

Cosmic Eye offers a striking, educational, 3D view of scale from the universe to the micro world, but its usefulness is hampered by paywalls to zoom, unclear pricing, automatic zoom behavior, occasional instability, and annoying resets. If these usability and monetization issues are addressed, it could be a strong, broadly appealing learning tool.
Pros
  • Visually impressive 3D exploration of scale from the cosmos down to the micro world with helpful annotations.
  • Educational and thought‑provoking, illustrating the concept of scale (Powers of Ten) and suitable for learners of all ages.
  • Simple, elegant interface that makes it easy to browse different scales and explore space and biology.
  • Engaging and enjoyable to use, with potential as a learning tool for students and curious minds.
  • Broad appeal as an approachable way to discuss science and scale with others.
Cons
  • Revenue model relies on multiple in‑app purchases to unlock full zoom range, with unclear or misleading pricing.
  • Confusing pricing messages about Pro status (e.g., $0.00) and inconsistent updates to the price.
  • Automatic/forced zoom behavior makes manual control difficult and often disrupts exploration (no easy way to disable or slow it).
  • Stability issues including crashes or needed updates that prevent reliable use.
  • End of sequence resets the view; no option to disable resets or maintain progress between runs.

Can u make it so we can zoom in all the way to Planck length and all the way out to Beyond the universe it’s a good app but it’s all I ask

Can you make it so we can zoom out of the universe and very far into the atomic nucleus? That’s all I think you should add. Other than that, it’s a good app! 👍🏽
