Hole19 is praised for its watch-friendly scoring and generally accurate yardage, but suffers from reliability and usability problems. Users report freezes, crashes, and erratic hole navigation; readability in bright light is poor; course data updates are lagging; and support responsiveness is inconsistent. When functioning, it’s easy to use with strong tracking, but the recurring reliability and data issues limit its consistency.

Pros

Easy to use interface, especially on Apple Watch, with scoring that is a breeze.
Accurate yardage/distances when the app is functioning.
Excellent Apple Watch integration for scoring, tracking, and maps.
Good capability to track scores, shots, and monitor friends' activity.

Cons

Reliability issues: frequent freezes/crashes, app disappearing, and changing holes mid-round (unstable performance).
Navigation/readability problems: small fonts/icons, hard to read in bright sun, and overall less user-friendly navigation.
Course data/outdated maps: course layouts or hole orders not updated promptly, dependence on Google Maps with limited green-break detail.

Recent reviews

I understand ads on the free version but on one hole early in the round I couldn’t dismiss the ad, couldn’t view the hole or gps data, and couldn’t input my score for that hole. Frustrating and ruined my scoring.
