User Reviews

Users generally praise Golfshot for being easy to use, accurate with yardages, and feature-rich with solid support. However, recurring concerns center on pricing and billing practices, unreliable auto-shot tracking and watch integration, GHIN posting issues, persistent bugs/slow updates, and noticeable battery drain on Apple devices. The core tool remains valuable, but the subscription model and reliability frustrations are the most frequently mentioned pain points.
Pros
  • Easy to use and intuitive UI.
  • Accurate yardages and helpful course previews.
  • Rich feature set with scoring, stats tracking, and an up-to-date course database.
  • Responsive customer support and quick data updates (new tees, course data).
  • Strong Apple Watch integration for scoring and yardages when the watch app works.
Cons
  • Pricing and billing issues: frequent upsell prompts to Pro, unclear free vs paid model, immediate charges and refund hassles.
  • Auto-shot tracking and watch integration are unreliable: auto-track may not record swings and watch scoring can fail (blank screens).
  • GHIN posting can fail, preventing rounds from posting automatically.
  • Persistent bugs and slow updates: long-standing issues persist and some features feel neglected.
  • Significant battery drain on Apple Watch (and iPhone) during rounds.

Very nice user friendly golf app and syncs with my Iwatch

After almost two years of using the app I’m giving the low rating for the following reasons: 1) Overall consistency. Sometimes the app will tell me to use LW when I’m 200yards out 2) It does not take slope into consideration. 3) The app recently started to ask where the Pin placement was causing unnecessary adjustments on Apple Watch 4) Shot tracking seems to work about 60% of the time….5) The illustration for the fairway and green are only so so…would much prefer the actual satellite version so u can see where the cart path, fairways, swamps actual come into play. My son and son-in-law both use 18 Birdies and they swear by it…gonna ride it out until my subscription runs out but likely gonna change at the end of the season.
