User Reviews

Users praise Audio Function Generator for its extensive feature set and intuitive interface, with broad usefulness from audio testing to tinnitus therapy. The main sticking point is the paid model: many features and the full frequency range are locked behind a subscription, and several reviews note changes after updates that reduced the free range. Some users report unexpected charges and accessibility gaps. Despite the paywalls, many find the Pro version worth it and the app a capable, versatile tool for precise signal generation.
Pros
  • Feature-rich frequency generator with a ton of parameters and customization options.
  • Intuitive, organized interface that makes signal generation straightforward and reliable.
  • Versatile use cases, including tuning car audio, tinnitus therapy, binaural beats, and testing audio equipment.
  • Pro version adds significant value and is considered worth paying for by many users.
Cons
  • Paywalls and subscription requirements lock many features and the full frequency range behind a paywall.
  • Free version limits the frequency range (often 100 Hz to 10 kHz) and restricts access to advanced options.
  • Updates that reduce capabilities or shift ranges have sparked user backlash.
  • Billing issues and unexpected charges have occurred for some users.
  • Accessibility gaps, such as lack of VoiceOver support, reduce usability for vision-impaired users.

This is the most poorly designed app I’ve ever seen in my whole life. I work with software and apps all the time. I’ve seen all kinds, but this takes the cake as the absolute worst. Horrible user experience. There is literally no way to just set a frequency and have it play indefinitely. That’s not even an option. The frequency constantly rises when you said it at one thing and it gets higher and higher and then it cuts off after a certain amount of time. There is absolutely no option to make the frequency stay steady. There is no option to make it play indefinitely. All of the commands and the buttons are grouped in a horrible way

Can’t do anything without upgrading to the paid subscription.

Seemingly almost zero complaints aside from the stop playback timer not functioning as intended. Other than that a very solid and a highly recommended purchase for those wanting such utility!
