User Reviews

Rhythmicity Rhythm Trainer is lauded for its broad rhythm-pattern library, immediate feedback, and strong sight-reading focus, complemented by tutorials. It suits both beginners and advanced players and supports practice on iPhone/iPad with features like sharing results and certificates. However, several users note a steep learning curve and strict accuracy demands that make some rhythms hard to pass. A subset of reviewers also mentions the value of tutorials and prompts, reinforcing its educational utility despite the difficulty. Overall, a robust tool with a notable learning curve.
Pros
  • Wide library of rhythm patterns and variations
  • Immediate feedback on performance with accurate timing
  • Strong emphasis on sight-reading and rhythm reading
  • Helpful tutorials and counting guidance
Cons
  • Too difficult/overly strict accuracy requirements for some users (difficulty passing even basic rhythms)

Doesn’t work at all

This app has plenty of rhythm patterns to practice. You can also choose which rhythms you want to concentrate on in the rhythm library. After selecting and performing a rhythm pattern, you will receive immediate feedback as to how well you play each rhythm. The timing is accurate, and you can email your friends with the results. Also, If you complete a level challenge exercise, you get a certificate, which is very lovely. This app is suitable for beginners and advanced musicians, and I give it five stars!

This app is an excellent tool for learning to stay on the beat. The metronome is really helpful because I can clearly see the up and down beats. As a newby on the piano, this is an area I have struggled with. After a few days I can see improvements in my timing of rest, held notes, and my understanding of various rhythm patterns. It is very nice to be able to practice a few minutes every day on my iPhone or iPad. The only thing I would recommend is to be able to practice the app with an external keyboard would be nice.
