User Reviews
Pros
- Helpful, accurate dictionary that's easy to search.
- User-friendly and quick to navigate.
- Sign videos provide clear demonstrations with facial cues to aid learning.
- Offline video availability allows use without internet.
- Reasonably priced with good value for the content.
Cons
- Mouthing of words in the videos is distracting and is viewed by some as not true ASL; users want the option to hide mouth movements.
- Lack of phrases and contextual guidance; dictionary feels bare-bones without usage context.
- Poor organization and vague categorization, making it hard to find related terms.
- Quiz design is limited (mostly multiple-choice) and can be less helpful, especially with mouthing affecting the test.

I’ve been using this for years. It’s helpful, accurate and easy to find words to remind you of words you may have forgotten, or updated.

Ok, for starters, I love this app. It’s great and worth the storage and the cash.
However I have one extremely minor concern, more like a question: why are the signs “mouthed” in the videos? My ASL teacher at school used to tell me that “mouthing” and signing “is not ASL” and that there’s “something” against it in the Deaf community.
However, I have some possible answers to my questions, and would like confirmation.
Perhaps this is just to help people learn to lip read, or at least stay sharp at it.
Maybe people feel more comfortable this way? Although I feel like it’s just teaching them a less socially acceptable form of signing.
Just wondering if I’m wrong, or if there’s a definite reason.
Anyways, I love this app. It’s beyond useful. Worth every cent.

Hi, I just wanted to say thank you for this app. It is quick and simple and easy to navigate. I love it.
I was hoping (and this might be a stupid suggestion) that you could implement a box, that could be next to the buttons on the definition page, that would be a note? I think, for me at least, it would be helpful to get a description on the way a word is signed. For example when some words you shape your hand into the first letter of that word and then sign, it might be really helpful for some people to remember signs better if there’s a small description? Idk if it’d be helpful to most but I just wanted to throw it out there. Anyways I love love love this app. Thank you for making it a really great dictionary.
