Nijimi is a watercolor app for exploring. You paint on a wet sheet of paper, and the paint behaves the way real watercolor does.

Colors blend where they touch. Tilting your phone makes wet paint run. Marks keep spreading after you lift your finger. And there is no undo, because there are no wrong marks.

THERE ARE NO MISTAKES HERE Nijimi is about exploring. A mark you didn't expect is not a mistake. It is what the water and pigment did with what you gave them. Real watercolor has no undo, and neither does Nijimi: a wet stroke blends into what is already on the paper and can't be pulled back out. If you don't like a mark, paint water over it to soften it, keep painting, or start a new sheet. Your earlier sheet is saved.

COLORS MIX LIKE REAL PAINT When two wet colors touch, they blend into the color real pigments would make. Yellow and blue make green, not gray, because the mixing uses measured data from real watercolor pigments instead of averaging colors on a screen.

The palettes are made of real pigments, such as French Ultramarine, Burnt Sienna, Phthalo Blue and Hansa Yellow. You have five colors and water at a time. Swipe the bar at the bottom for more colors, or swipe to the end to choose a different palette.

TILT YOUR PHONE TO MOVE THE WATER While paint is wet, tilting your phone makes it run downhill and collect where it stops. Dry paint stays put. Nijimi learns how you normally hold your phone and treats that as flat.

WAITING CHANGES THE PAINTING Paint keeps moving after you lift your finger and dries over a few seconds. Leave a mark alone and it spreads and softens. Paint into it while it is still wet and you get something different. Both are part of painting.

WHO IT'S FOR Anyone who likes to paint, or used to. People who want a few quiet minutes making something without a goal. Watercolor painters who want to try an idea without getting a brush wet.

WHO IT'S NOT FOR If you want layers, hundreds of brushes, or a way to correct every stroke, this is the wrong app. Nijimi is for exploring, not for precise illustration.

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE No account. No ads. No tracking. Your paintings are saved on your phone and never uploaded. Nijimi contains no networking code, so it has no way to send anything anywhere.
