DocWeb Connect: your document archive on your own server. Search, view, scan and file – from iPhone and iPad. No cloud, no third-party servers.

DocWeb Connect is the iOS app for DocWeb, the self-hosted document management system running on your own Synology NAS or another server you control.

The app is a pure client: your documents stay on your server. There is no cloud, no third-party account and no data transfer to us.

SEARCH AND VIEW Full-text search across file names, categories, tags and the content extracted by OCR. Open PDFs, images and Office files directly in the preview; for Office files the extracted text is shown. The category tree mirrors your folder structure on the server.

SCAN WITH THE CAMERA Photograph a document and adjust the crop corners by hand – corners are detected automatically and can be dragged with your finger exactly onto the document edges. Pages photographed at an angle are straightened. Several shots are combined into one multi-page PDF.

UPLOAD AND FILE AWAY Upload photos, camera shots or files – either straight into the inbox or into a category. In the inbox you check new files, rotate or rename them, merge several PDFs and then file them into the right category with tags.

PDF TOOLS Rotate documents (all pages or selected ones), split page ranges and merge several PDFs. Results are saved as a new file in the inbox – the originals stay unchanged.

TAGS AND DUPLICATES Tag documents independently of the folder structure and find them again by tag. Administrators can have duplicates detected and cleaned up automatically.

SECURE AND ROLE-BASED Sign in with user name and password, optionally with two-factor authentication (email code or authenticator app). The roles admin, editor and read control who may see and edit documents; individual documents can be shared with selected people. Session and server address are stored in the iOS keychain.

FOR YOUR OWN NETWORK The app also connects to servers on the local network whose certificate is self-signed – for example a Synology NAS. For addresses on your own network, certificate verification can be enabled specifically; internet addresses are still strictly verified.

REQUIREMENT Your own DocWeb server (PHP 8.x and MariaDB) on your network or on the internet. Without a server the app cannot be used.
