Features & Capabilities

Granumetric optimises particle-size distributions for powder, aggregate and slurry mixes. You enter sieve or laser data for each component, choose a packing or statistical target, and read the mass recipe that best matches the curve — on iPhone, iPad and Mac, from one math core.

The target is a dry solid-volume packing curve unless you switch to a certificate or a mass-basis model. Sliders always move mass fractions. Moisture is kept on the batch, not on the packing plot.

WHAT YOU CAN DO • Blend two or more granulometries on a shared particle-size axis (test sieves ISO 3310 / GOST 6613 and laser-diffraction equivalents ISO 13320). • Fit to two Funk–Dinger packing models (classic 1994 and with grain-shape parameter α), Fuller, Andreasen, Bolomey, Gates–Gaudin–Schuhmann, Rosin–Rammler (Weibull), a custom passing table, or a certificate envelope. • See the mix curve, the reference, and each feed; switch a linear or logarithmic size axis; stack charts or sit them side by side. • Read quality numbers: maximum and root-mean-square passing error, specific surface, fineness modulus, the sizes at which 10 %, 50 % and 90 % of the material passes (d10 / d50 / d90), and uniformity. • Open a local gallery of construction, ceramics, pigments, food, peat, mining, metallurgy, additive-manufacturing, pharmaceutical and soil examples. • Run 28 auxiliary calculators in the full version (Blaine specific surface, Stokes settling, Kozeny permeability, Hazen drainage, Ergun packed-bed pressure drop, Bond grinding work, foundry-sand fineness number, ternary diagram, water demand, pigment volume concentration, flow, and more). • Export a PDF report for free; a CSV table of the recipe is a full-version extra. A JSON file of your own project is always free.

FREE AND FULL Free: five starter examples (sand + crushed stone, cement + limestone, filler + pigment, mix certificate, 316L stainless-steel powder), two components, 16 size classes, packing and classical statistical targets, local save, PDF and JSON. Full version (one lifetime purchase): every bundled example, up to 20 components and 80 classes, all fitting methods, the density library, the calculator toolbox, and CSV export.

WHO IT IS FOR The program is for process and materials engineers who must set mass fractions of several particulate feeds so the blended passing curve matches a packing model, a mill-product distribution, a standard grading envelope, or a third-party certificate. Fractions, comparison basis (dry solid volume or dry mass) and class residuals stay explicit; the calculation does not replace sieve or laser analysis.

Typical workplaces: • concrete plants and construction-materials laboratories — sand and crushed-stone skeletons, limestone filler, self-compacting mixes, GOST or European envelopes, fineness modulus; • ceramic and refractory works, slip laboratories — porcelain, grog with clay, glazes, alumina castables to Andreasen or Funk–Dinger; • pigment, coatings and compound lines — unlike true densities, where mass fraction is not the solid-volume fraction in the film; • food dry-mix plants and peat works — moisture on the weigh-out, packing compared on dry solid; • mineral processing, sintering and milling — circuit feed, ore and return, grinding work; • foundry and powder-metallurgy laboratories — moulding sand and metal powders; • additive-manufacturing laboratories — narrow laser distributions of 316L, polyamide 12 and titanium alloys; • pharmaceutical solid-dosage development; soil-mechanics laboratories (drainage, filters); teaching laboratories in materials science.
