Radiography & Weld Inspection
Now 60 verified calculators, a full standards reference library and 750 exam questions — offline, in your pocket.
NDT Nation is the field reference built by RT people, for RT people: 60 verified calculators, a standards reference library and three full exam-prep banks — all working offline at the shot location.
60 CALCULATORS
• RT — film density by code, R-factors, source decay, exposure correction, geometric unsharpness, boundary estimate, blow factor, wall shot selector, IQI/density check, % sensitivity, HVL attenuation, inverse-square, isotope reference, film development, pipe schedule
• UT / PAUT / TOFD — wavelength, near field, beam spread, Snell's law, angle-beam path, dB/amplitude, attenuation correction, thickness by echo, temperature correction, scan calculator, DAC/TCG helper, wedge refraction, TOFD setup
• MT — coil shot, prod current, yoke lift test, demagnetization check
• ET — depth of penetration, fill factor, phase/impedance, limit frequency
• PT / VT — dwell time and dwell grid, lighting, coverage check
• Welding — heat input, fillet weld size, pipe hi-lo, weld symbols, preheat/interpass, PWHT time and temperature, undercut acceptance, camber
• Materials — carbon equivalent, bolt torque, weld volume, pipe clock position, F#/P# reference, hardness conversion, alloy/PMI reference, unit and temperature conversion
ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA + INDICATION EVALUATION
Pick the code, edition, pipe size and wall thickness and get the tolerance for each anomaly type computed for your actual wall — with a real reference radiograph on the rows that have one. The API 1104 engine evaluates an indication against the individual-length, worst-12-inch aggregate and percent-of-weld-length tests and tells you which one it fails.
FILM INTERPRETATION WITH REAL RADIOGRAPHS
Ten defect categories — incomplete penetration, IP due to high-low, elongated slag, porosity, cracks, burn through, hollow bead, internal and external undercut, incomplete fusion — each with real annotated films you can pinch-zoom, plus what it looks like on film and how it is graded.
REFERENCE LIBRARY
API 510, API 570, API 653, API 571 damage mechanisms, WPS/PQR to ASME IX, PT and UT code guides, PMI guide, CUI/coating and electrode storage — written in our own words from the governing standards and cited, never copied.
EXAM PREP — 750 QUESTIONS
• State card / radiation safety — 200 questions plus study notes and a timed mock on the real blueprint
• CWI — 351 questions plus bullet study cards
• ASNT Level II — 199 questions across UT, RT, MT, PT and ET
Every answer comes with the explanation and the standard behind it.
BUILT FOR THE FIELD
• Fully offline — no signal needed at the shot
• Big-screen mode: mirror your phone to a TV or monitor over AirPlay or HDMI for a film-density readout the whole crew can read across the bay
• Customizable home — pin the tools you use, most-used surface automatically
• Dark, one-hand interface that reads in bright sun or a dark bay
Every formula is built from the governing standard — ASME, API, AWS, ASTM, ASNT, NCRP — and cited, not copied from another app.
Reference only. This app does not replace your governing code, your written procedure or certified personnel. Radiation safety outputs are planning aids: always verify with a calibrated survey meter and follow your radiation safety program.
