Peal turns the appointments you must not miss into real alarms. Not a banner that slides away unnoticed, but an alarm that sounds through Silent mode and through Focus, and keeps ringing until you deal with it.

WHY A NOTIFICATION IS NOT ENOUGH

Calendar notifications are quiet by design. They arrive while your phone is face down, during a Focus session, or in a stack of twenty others. For most appointments that is fine. For the call with your boss, the customer, the doctor, it is not.

READS THE CALENDARS YOU ALREADY HAVE

iCloud, Google, Outlook, Exchange, work accounts: whatever your iPhone already syncs. No new login, no account with us, no server. Your calendar is read on the device and nothing leaves it.

YOU DECIDE WHAT RINGS

• Per calendar: let work ring, leave the shared family calendar quiet • Per keyword: anything with "interview" or a particular person's name • Per participant: by name or email address • One appointment at a time, with a switch on the row • Repeating appointments: this date, or the whole series

All of that is free.

LEAD TIME AND QUIET HOURS

Set how long before the start it should ring. Quiet hours keep the night silent.

BUILT TO KEEP UP

Peal notices appointments added while it is closed and re-checks itself while charging overnight. A Shortcuts automation keeps it current even if you close the app.

PRIVACY

No analytics. No crash SDK. No network requests of Peal's own. Nothing is collected, because there is nowhere for it to go.

PEAL PLUS

The rules above are free. Plus adds the finer settings, and one more thing:

• Smart alarms. Apple Intelligence, on your iPhone, works out whether somebody is waiting on you, so the appointment you never thought to write a rule for still rings • A different alarm tone, and its own tone per calendar, so you know what it is without looking • Pause every alarm until a date you choose, or pause a single calendar • A lead time per calendar: 15 minutes for work, 5 for private • Weekdays per calendar, so the work calendar rings Monday to Friday only • Ring for repeating appointments only, or for one-off ones only • A second button on the alarm that pushes it back a few minutes. It comes back, and keeps coming back
