A new way to read the weather. Most weather apps give you one forecast. Bravo shows you seven — and, more importantly, whether they agree.

Rainfall forecasts are compared across seven leading weather models: the Bureau of Meteorology, ECMWF, GFS, ICON, GEM, JMA and UKMO. Each approaches the atmosphere differently, so they won't always agree.

That disagreement matters. When seven models point in the same direction, you can have more confidence in the forecast. When they don't, Bravo makes the uncertainty obvious.

Six of seven models putting 15 mm on Thursday is worth planning around. Two of seven is worth watching and nothing more. Those two situations look identical in an app that averages them into a single figure.

BravoWeather Pro adds the rest of every model's run (up to 16 days), Compare on the map, rain and frost alerts, and the complete Big Picture briefing. Pro is A$4.99 a month, with the first month free for new subscribers. It renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and can be managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings at any time.

ALERTS

Set the amount of rain you are waiting for, how many models must agree, and how far ahead to look. Bravo checks once a day and tells you when your rule is met — once per weather event, not once per day. Every alert arrives by email, and you can switch on a notification for any individual alert to have it reach your phone as well. Frost alerts work the same way, with a threshold defaulting to +2 °C, because models publish screen temperature and the ground runs colder on the nights that matter.
