Backtalk: Reverse Audio Game

One player says a word. The app plays it backwards. The other copies the gibberish — and when the app reverses that, the word comes back out in their voice.

When it lands, it's uncanny. When it doesn't — which is most of the time at first — it's much funnier.

HOW A ROUND WORKS

1. Player A says a word out loud. Player B doesn't see it.
2. The app reverses it. Player B hears only gibberish, slowed down and looped as often as they need.
3. Player B copies that gibberish as closely as they can.
4. The app reverses their attempt. You listen to the result together.

That fourth step is the whole game.

TWO PEOPLE, ONE PHONE

No accounts, no second device, no turn timers. Record, hand it over, mimic, reveal. Every round saves to your history by itself — you never have to remember to keep one.

YOU CANNOT CHEAT IT

The prompt is silenced while the copy takes are recording. That isn't a rule you're asked to follow; it's built into the app: if the original were audible, the reveal would replay Player A's voice and the game would quietly stop meaning anything.

SHARE THE DISASTERS

Any round exports as one video with all four parts in order — the word, the word reversed, the attempt, the attempt reversed back. It's the funniest thing the app makes and the fastest way to explain the game to someone who hasn't played.

Label a round, and the word joins your bank. Practice hands words back to you on a spaced schedule, one at a time. Talking backwards is a real skill, and it genuinely improves.
