Features & Capabilities

Keep recording however you already do. Runrunrun does the other half: splits, heart rate zones, routes, personal bests. Add how it felt, and the next one plans itself.

Keep recording your runs however you already do. Runrunrun does the reading.

There is no start button in Runrunrun. You record the way you always have. Runrunrun reads the running workouts Health already holds and gives you somewhere to look back on them. Runs from the Workout app on Apple Watch, runs recorded with iPhone alone, and runs written to Health by another app all read the same way.

ONE RUN, IN DEPTH

Health records every detail of your run. Runrunrun reassembles that same data through a runner's lens.

  • Splits every 1km or 1mile, with lap time, pace, average heart rate, and elevation change. The fastest lap is called out
  • A pace curve with your average overlaid, so the day you went out too fast is obvious at a glance
  • Heart rate over time, plus time in each zone. Z1 through Z5, in minutes and percentages
  • Your GPS route on a map, colored by pace or elevation, with markers at every split
  • Interval sessions broken out by segment, when you recorded them that way
  • Cadence, stride length, vertical oscillation, ground contact time, and running power, shown only when they were recorded

WHAT IT ADDS UP TO

  • This week's distance, time, and count on the home screen, with a progress ring against your goal and the change from last week
  • Trends by week, month, or year. The distance chart overlays the same period a year ago
  • Average pace over time, split out by distance band (short, medium, long)
  • Heart rate zone distribution over time, so you can see whether it was a Z2 month
  • Personal bests for 1km, 5km, 10km, half, and full, computed for you. It isn't one of Health's standard types, so Runrunrun finds the fastest continuous stretch inside your distance data. It is the fastest segment you ran, not a finish time
  • Run streaks and days run per month

HOW IT FELT

Numbers do not explain themselves. Add a note, a perceived effort score (RPE), how your body felt, and tags to any run. Turn on the setting and your effort is written back to Health as Workout Effort, so the Fitness app sees it too. That single value is the only thing this app ever writes.

Register your shoes, attach them to runs, and the mileage adds up. Set a lifespan and you get a notification when a pair reaches it. Miles from before you installed the app can be entered as a starting offset.

WHAT COMES NEXT

  • Goals, weekly or monthly, on distance, time, or number of runs. Hold several at once
  • Races with a date, distance, location, and target time. The countdown sits on your home screen. Afterward, attach the actual run and see the gap against your target
  • A weekly training plan, matched against what you actually ran. Matches are offered, never assumed, so a double day or a change of plan does not get miscounted

MADE TO FIT

  • Kilometers or miles, applied to distance, pace, and elevation alike
  • Heart rate zones by max heart rate or heart rate reserve (Karvonen), with every boundary adjustable. Max heart rate is estimated from your date of birth in Health, and never overwritten once you set it yourself
  • Splits every 1km, 1mile, or automatic
  • Import all of your history, or just the last 1, 3, or 5 years

YOUR HEALTH DATA STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE

  • Everything read from Health stays on this device. It is never synced to iCloud
  • What does sync to iCloud is only what you wrote: notes, effort, condition, shoes, goals, races, plans. It lives in your own private database, which the developer cannot see
  • No account. No developer server
  • No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics. There is no networking code in this app at all
  • Export everything as JSON or CSV, any time. Leaving is as easy as arriving

REQUIREMENTS

Requires an iPhone running iOS 26.0 or later. iPad is not supported.

With no runs in Health there is nothing to look back on, so the screens stay empty. Once there is a single run in Health, it appears on first sync.
