One Line a Day: Micro Journal

Journals die on page three. This one asks for a single sentence—then hands it back to you a week, a month, and a year later.

Journals die on page three. This one asks for a single sentence.

Two hundred characters, once a day. The cap is the feature — it's what kills the blank-page dread that ends every other journaling habit you've started. Thirty seconds and you're done.

THEN TIME DOES THE WORK

Open the app tomorrow and yesterday's line is waiting. Open it next week and so is the one from seven days ago. Then thirty days. Then ninety, a hundred and eighty, and a year. Your own sentences come back to greet you, unannounced, and they are far stranger and better than you expect. The app is thin on day one and irreplaceable by day ninety — automatically, without you doing anything except writing one line.

WHAT'S IN IT

• One line a day, 200 characters, in a serif that treats your words as the content and the app as the stationery
• Lookbacks on the today screen — never buried: yesterday, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year
• A gentle prompt on blank days, so there's never an empty page
• Search every line you've written
• A month-by-month archive of the whole collection
• One-tap plain-text export of everything
• Dark mode

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE

No account. No sign-up. No cloud, no sync, no server. Your lines are on your device and nowhere else, and the export button means they're never hostage to this app. That is the whole privacy policy.

FOR PEOPLE WHO WANTED THE PAPER ONE

If you've ever bought a five-year line-a-day diary and stopped in February, this is that book without the guilt of the blank pages. The only rule is one sentence.
