Features & Capabilities

A mechanical watch does not keep one rate. It keeps six — one for every position it can rest in. That is the whole idea behind this app.

Catch the second, log where the watch spent the night, and the app solves the rest: how many seconds a day it gains or loses worn, and how many it gains or loses lying dial up, dial down, crown up, crown down, crown left or crown right.

THE ONE ANSWER IT GIVES

Tonight, rest it dial down — and tomorrow you are +1 second instead of +6.

That single line is the product. A watch that runs fast on the wrist usually runs slow in at least one resting position, and choosing that position every night is how collectors and watchmakers have flattened daily rate for a century. It costs nothing, it touches no screw, and until now nobody kept the arithmetic for you.

HOW A READING WORKS

Watch the seconds tick on screen. Tap the moment your watch shows a full second, set what it showed, and say where it rested since the last reading. Two taps and a pick. That is the entry.

WHAT IT WORKS OUT

• A rate for every resting position, solved from your own readings with a least-squares fit — not a single average pretending to be the truth. • A confidence level per position, so a number built on one night is never dressed up as a settled one. • The drift curve: where your watch will be in 7, 14 or 30 days, with your own reset band drawn across it. • The day it crosses that band, so you set the watch before it annoys you rather than after. • Power reserve since the last wind, for automatics and hand-wound movements.

WHAT IT IS NOT

It is not a timegrapher. It does not listen to your watch through the microphone and it never claims to measure amplitude or beat error. It measures the thing you actually live with — how far off the watch is, day after day — and it does that without a microphone, without hardware and without a subscription to anyone's cloud.

It is also not a service manual. A movement running far outside its range needs a watchmaker, and the app says so instead of pretending otherwise.

ALSO

• Any number of watches, automatic, hand-wound or quartz. Quartz skips the position engine and just shows its rate. • Reset, regulation, service and winding logged — a reset never poisons the fit. • Streaks, a month calendar, 80 achievements and daily, weekly and monthly challenges. • Works offline. No account, no server, no tracking.

The −4/+6 seconds a day range offered as a target is the published chronometer window. This app carries no certification and claims no connection to any standards body.

Watch Log Pro is offered as a monthly auto-renewing subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of that period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions in your Apple Account settings after purchase.
