Features & Capabilities

Watch Tracker is a revolutionary app for tracking the accuracy of a wristwatch. It makes accurate timekeeping dramatically easier than traditional methods: simply tap a button when the time on your watch matches the app, and Watch Tracker will synchronize with an atomic clock, measure the difference, and log it over time with clear graphs.

Key features include best-fit analysis to quantify how many seconds your watch gains or loses per day, visual graphs of rates and variance, support for tracking multiple watches, and data export as CSV files that open in any spreadsheet program. Watch Tracker is from the developer of tChess (the chess app featured in Apple's Learn commercial) and Learn Chess.

User Reviews

Watch Tracker provides reliable long-term tracking of watch accuracy with graphs and history, across multiple watches, in a simple, ad-free interface. It shines in data capture, notes, and ease of use, with responsive developer support. Some users report stability issues on newer devices/OS versions and note that results depend on tapping accuracy, and a few feel the price is high for the feature set.
Pros
  • Accurate, long-term tracking with graphs and a historical log across multiple watches.
  • Simple, focused ad-free design that's easy to use and privacy-conscious.
  • Multi-watch support and the ability to run multiple timing sessions (including wearing vs night stand rates).
  • Atomic clock reference for calibrating watches and reliable data, plus ability to add comments to entries for context.
  • Responsive developer with ongoing updates and helpful support.
Cons
  • Crashes and stability issues on newer devices/OS versions (e.g., iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26).
  • Accuracy can depend on tapping speed, which can lead to inconsistent results for some users.
  • Perceived high price or value concerns.

I’ve used this app for many years. The last review I wrote—also many years ago—no longer appears on the review list. I actually love this app so much that I’m writing another review to compliment the developer and to explain why some reviewers, although in small numbers, may have found the app inaccurate or hard to use. This app is not a timegrapher that gives instant readings on your watch’s rate. Instead, it collects data points by having you match your watch’s time to the app’s time (or atomic time). Using at least two reference points, the app then calculates, graphs, and tracks your watch’s rate. You can start a new time run anytime you adjust your watch, and you can also track multiple watches with the app. The only real requirement for accuracy is having quick reflexes—because you need to tap the screen when your watch shows the exact time displayed on the app. If you can’t tap within about 0.2 to 0.5 seconds of the shown time, the results might not be as accurate or meaningful. Whether you’re a casual collector or a serious watch enthusiast, this app is a must-have if you care about tracking your watch’s accuracy over time. It’s easy to use and gives you detailed insights into how fast or slow your watch is running—something any watch lover will appreciate.
