Features & Capabilities

Early release. On iPhone, LensSentry checks while the app is open — we won't claim background monitoring iOS can't reliably deliver. 145 tests behind the engine.

Camera glasses are everywhere now, and you usually can't tell when one is pointed at you.

LensSentry listens for the Bluetooth Low Energy signals that camera glasses broadcast — Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, Snap Spectacles, Amazon Echo Frames — and gives you a quiet, plainly worded heads-up.

HONEST IN BOTH DIRECTIONS

Most detectors hedge their alerts but let a quiet screen imply safety. LensSentry says both halves out loud, on the main screen, not buried in a help article:

• A clear screen is not a guarantee. Glasses already paired and connected to a phone can go silent. • A detection is not proof anyone is recording. It means a matching signal is nearby.

If that sounds like a product arguing against itself, it's the opposite. A privacy tool that overstates its own power is part of the problem.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY DOES

• Listens for the manufacturer identifiers and service UUIDs that camera glasses broadcast, checked against the Bluetooth SIG registry and public field captures • Three plain states: All clear, Possible, or Likely nearby, with a rough proximity estimate • A session log of what was heard — first seen, last seen, peak signal • Mute your own glasses so they never hold the room on alert • Detection signatures update over the air, so new fingerprints reach you without waiting for an app update

ON IPHONE, SPECIFICALLY

LensSentry checks while the app is open. iOS does not let a third-party app scan continuously in the background in a way we would be willing to describe as reliable, so we don't describe it that way. Open the app, check the room.

PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE

These aren't policy promises we could quietly revise later. They're how the app is built.

• No location. Bluetooth scanning is declared never-for-location at the operating-system level. The app cannot see where you are. • No accounts. Nothing to sign up for. • No ads, no analytics, no tracking of any kind. • Works fully offline. Its only network use is downloading signature updates. • Optional, off by default: share anonymous radio fingerprints of detected glasses to improve detection for everyone. No hardware addresses, no location, nothing about you.

WHAT THIS RELEASE IS NOT

This is an early release and we'd rather say so than let you find out. The detection engine is covered by 145 automated tests, but no software can promise it will catch every device, and glasses that are already connected and quiet are genuinely hard to hear.

Treat LensSentry as a second opinion. That is what we would say about a finished version too.
