Letterwise

No timers. No scores. No way to lose. Just one letter at a time, for as long as you like — plus a new daily challenge every morning.

Letterwise is a word ladder game. You get a starting word and a target word, and you change one into the other one move at a time. Swap a letter, add a letter, or remove a letter. Every word along the way has to be a real word.

When you reach the target, the next one starts. There's no timer, no score, and no way to lose.

HOW TO PLAY

Drag a letter tile up or down to spin it. Only letters that make a real word will come up.

Swipe a tile sideways to remove that letter. Tap the "+" at either end to add one.

That's all three moves. Every puzzle can be solved from wherever you are — you can't get stuck with no way forward.

DIFFICULTY

Five levels, changed with one button. On Easy the target is two or three moves away. On Extreme it's seven or eight. Each grade has its own weather in the sky behind the board.

The sky also tracks your total. Every word you solve raises it further through its colors, and the stars come out near the top. It never goes back down.

DAILY CHAIN

Everyone gets the same ten-word chain each day. Finish all ten to earn free hints and continue your streak. Your main game stays where you left it.

HINTS

A hint plays the next move for you, so you can see how it's done. You get more by finishing the Daily Chain or watching a short video.

SETTINGS

Large text, high contrast, reduce motion, and a tap-instead-of-drag option for anyone who finds dragging difficult. These work alongside your iPhone's own accessibility settings.

Sound and haptics are on by default and can be turned off.
