LetterLadder has a simple rule with a surprising amount of room to be clever: start from a word, change exactly one letter to make a new word, and keep going. CAT to COT to COG to BOG. Same length every step, no word twice, and every rung you add is worth points.

Score comes from the letters you use and how rare your words are. Anyone can find SAME to SAVE to CAVE. Finding a word almost nobody else found is where the points hide.

Daily — one starting word for everyone, every weekday. Build your ladder and see where you land on the global percentile leaderboard.

Arcade — random starting words and a choice of three temporary upgrades each time you cross a score threshold. Every run is different.

Roguelite — spend Lexemes on permanent upgrades that carry across runs, then prestige and start the climb again.

Free Play — pick any starting word you like and chase your personal best on it.

INSIDE A RUN

Lives — a wrong word costs you one. Run out and the run is over. Rarity — words are tiered common, uncommon, rare and unique, paying 1x up to 4x. Upgrades — extra lives, score multipliers, letter bonuses and second chances. Owl's Favor — down to your last life, the owl may offer you a way back up.
