This optional feature is best-effort, not a government emergency service, and not a replacement for official alerts.

While the Watch app is open, a fresh active JMA earthquake early warning can show protective-action guidance with the native Watch warning haptic. A custom QuakeSignal sound selected on the paired iPhone is mirrored to Watch and may also play while the app is active. The companion does not independently register for push notifications or background emergency delivery; optional background alerts remain on the paired iPhone.
