TrailFlow

Sixty trail networks across South Africa, with the conditions riders reported today. Check what’s open before you load the bakkie.

Every South African mountain bike trail worth riding, in one place.

TrailFlow maps sixty trail networks from Tokai to Giba Gorge — what’s there, how hard it is, and whether it’s rideable today.

FIND A TRAIL THAT FITS THE DAY Browse by province, grade or trail type, or open the map and see what’s near the pass you’re driving over. Every venue shows its grade range, route count and distance range up front, so you can rule a place in or out without opening it.

KNOW BEFORE YOU DRIVE Trails carry a live status — Open, Caution or Closed — and riders file condition reports from the trailhead. A tree down after a storm, a washed-out berm, a locked gate: you find out before the two-hour drive, not after it.

ROUTES, IN THE DETAIL THAT MATTERS Each route shows its distance, climbing and grade, drawn on a satellite map with an elevation profile. Download the GPX straight to your head unit.

GRADES YOU CAN ACTUALLY READ A route’s difficulty is shown as a shape and a word — Easy, Intermediate, Difficult, Extreme — never as a colour alone. It stays readable in full sun, in greyscale, and for colour-blind riders. It also means a venue’s “Blue Route” can be graded Difficult without the screen contradicting itself.

KEEP A SHORTLIST Save the trails you mean to ride. Your saved list follows your account, so it’s there on every device you sign in on.

CHECK IN AND GIVE SOMETHING BACK Check in when you ride and file condition reports for the riders behind you. Trail managers see the reports and keep their venue’s status current.

Built in South Africa, for South African riders.

Trail data is community-maintained. Conditions come from riders and trail managers, so always ride within your limits and check official venue channels for access, permits and entry fees.
