Features & Capabilities

Every hour of the day lands in a bucket you named, or shows up as open. Time in the apps you marked as wasted is charged automatically. That list stays on your iPhone.

Timetold is a 24-hour time tracker. Every one of the day's 1440 minutes goes into a bucket you named, or it shows up as open. Time in the apps you marked as wasted is charged automatically.

Not a blocker. Not a shield. An honest ledger.

THE WHOLE DAY, NOT THE HIGHLIGHTS

Most time trackers ask what you accomplished. Timetold asks where the day went — all of it. Sleep, the job, training, the people you love, and the hours you'd rather not admit to. A day you've ignored looks visibly broken on the ring.

BUCKETS YOU DEFINE

Nine to start with, all editable before you ever use the app: rename them, retarget them, delete the ones that don't apply, add your own. Targets are bands rather than lines — a floor to reach, a ceiling to stay under, or both. "More is better" is false for most of a day. Fourteen hours at work and eleven in bed are not wins.

LOG IT THREE WAYS

Type it: split an hour across buckets in steps of 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes. Time it: start a timer in a bucket from the app, the widget, the Lock Screen or the Dynamic Island, and the minutes land in the clock hours they actually happened in. Backfill it: pool a forgotten morning and assign it in one pass. Backfilling only fills gaps — hours you logged carefully are never scrambled.

IT ASKS, AND THEN IT STOPS

A check-in anchored to the last time you logged, not the last time you opened the app. Hourly, a few times a day, or once in the evening — your call. Whichever you pick, it asks at most three times, then leaves you alone until one summons before bed, and skips even that on a day you've already accounted for. Notifications carry quick-log buttons, so most hours take one tap and never open the app.

SCREEN TIME, CHARGED AUTOMATICALLY

Pick the apps that count as wasted. The minutes you spend in them are written into your leak bucket on their own, accurate to about five minutes, visible but not editable. It does not block or limit anything.

PLAN TOMORROW, THEN SEE WHAT HAPPENED

Lay tomorrow out in blocks. When a block comes due you get one notification with three answers: Start, Push 30 minutes, or Doing something else. A block you ignore is marked missed and never logged — an intention is not a fact. Planned blocks draw as a hairline inside the day ring, so intent and reality sit on the same clock face.

INSIGHTS THAT SAY SOMETHING

Timetold states what it found, in words:

"Lost Hours concentrates between 9pm and midnight — 47% of it." "Exercise asks for 1h. Cleared twice in 21 days." "On days Projects clears its floor, Lost Hours is 1h 04m lower." "The record goes dark between 2pm and 5pm."

Every finding shows its evidence on request. Nothing claims cause. Nothing is reported from a sample too small to mean anything.

HONEST ARITHMETIC

A day you didn't log counts as a day you didn't log. Averages don't quietly divide by the days you happened to show up, and open time is drawn as a segment rather than left as empty space. The numbers are less flattering than they'd be otherwise. That's the point.

DEMANDING, NOT CRUEL

Time told is time counted with nothing left out. That standard is for the arithmetic, not for the person: the app names hours and buckets, never you. A week you didn't log gets a smaller ask, not a louder one.

YOUR ACCOUNT, YOUR LEDGER

Timetold asks you to sign in with Apple or Google before you start. Your ledger syncs to your own account, so it survives a new phone, and you can delete the account and everything in it from Settings at any time. Once you're signed in, logging works without a connection and syncs when one returns.

Which apps you marked as wasted never leaves your iPhone. That selection is held in a token the app itself cannot read; what syncs is a minute count in a bucket you named, exactly like a typed entry. No analytics, no ad SDKs, nothing sold to anyone. Export to CSV or JSON whenever you want.

Also: a Today widget, a Quick Timer widget, sleep hours filled in from your quiet window, and light and dark mode.
