Open it and there's one button. Behind it is a quiet reel of small, slow things to do in the dark — a breath ring that lengthens your exhale, a soft light moving down your body, a line drawn between stars, a doodle that colours in one tap at a time. Stay with one as long as you like, or swipe up for another.

IT KNOWS WHAT TIME IT IS

You tell Goodnight roughly when you sleep. An hour before bed it speaks differently than it does at 3am — shorter words, fewer choices. It never shows you the time in the small hours, because counting the hours is what turns a wake-up into an hour of lying there.

IT ENDS

Every session finishes the same way: the screen fades and asks you to put the phone face down. After a while the reel offers to stop rather than waiting for you to. Nothing here is built to keep you scrolling.

NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE

No account, no sign-up, no analytics, no tracking, no network requests of any kind. Your nights are a file on your device, and one button in Settings deletes it. We can't see any of it, because it never goes anywhere.
