WHAT IT DOES

Adult website blocking. CONSEQ uses Apple's Screen Time to limit access to adult websites on your phone. You grant the permission yourself, and you can withdraw it in Settings whenever you want.

A task in the way. When you feel the pull, you open Lock in and CONSEQ gives you something to do first. Work through a few problems. Get up and point the camera at something across the room. Shake the phone a hundred times. The point is the gap between the urge and the screen, and one of the tasks cannot be done lying down.

Your day as a vessel. The home screen fills as the day goes on and as you do the things you chose to do. Reporting a break empties it. Every day starts again at midnight.

A minute of breathing, any time. Hold your finger on the screen and follow the line. Lift off and it pauses.

Your own words. The reason you gave for starting sits on the home screen, where you will actually see it.

Log and Insights. What you have done, when you did it, and the hours of the day you find hardest.

Disable app delete. One switch makes Delete disappear from the home screen menu, so deleting the app stops being the easy way out. Apple's setting is device wide, so while it is on no app on this phone can be deleted, not only this one. It is off by default and you can turn it off again at any time.

CONSEQ never claims to be a cage. Screen Time permission is yours and you can take it back. What the app does is make the easy path harder than the honest one.

WHAT IT COSTS

CONSEQ requires a subscription to finish onboarding and access the main app.

The yearly plan starts with a 3 day free trial:

• Yearly: 3 days free, then $49.99 per year
• Weekly: $4.99 per week, no trial

About the free trial. It is 3 days, it applies to the yearly plan only, and you get it once per Apple Account. When the 3 days end it turns into the $49.99 per year subscription automatically and your Apple Account is charged, unless you cancel before then. Starting the trial does not commit you to anything you cannot stop.

Both plans renew on their own until you cancel. To cancel either one, or to end the trial before it converts, go to your Apple Account settings and manage your subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before a period ends. Prices are in US dollars and may vary by region.
