Video control from your wrist
The iPad is across the room and your hands are busy. Play and pause YouTube or local videos from your wrist, and the session records to Health as a real workout.
Wand turns your Apple Watch into the remote for the video playing on your iPad.
Start a session on your wrist and the video starts on the iPad. Pause it, skip back fifteen seconds, change the speed, end the session. All of it from the watch, with wet hands, from the far end of a mat, without leaning over to touch a screen.
The connection is direct. Your watch talks to your iPad over Bluetooth, with no iPhone in the middle and nothing going through a server. It keeps working when your phone is in another room, or switched off.
THE WATCH RECORDS A REAL WORKOUT
While you practice, the watch records a workout. Heart rate and active energy go to Health and count toward your rings, exactly as they would with any workout app.
Your heart rate is drawn over the video on the iPad, big enough to read from across the room, so you can check it without breaking a posture. Show it always, or only once it passes a limit you set.
Three kinds of session, because not everything is exercise:
• Workout: a real Health workout with heart rate and active energy, counting toward your rings. 79 activity types, including Yoga, Pilates, Barre, Strength and HIIT
• Meditation: saved to Health as mindful minutes, with no workout and no rings
• No session: nothing written to Health at all, for a lecture or a recipe
WHAT YOU CAN PLAY
• Video files you open from Files or iCloud Drive
• YouTube links you paste in
Both work the same way from the watch. Wand brings no content of its own: no catalog, no search, nothing to browse.
YOUR HISTORY, ON YOUR DEVICES
Wand keeps a log of what you actually watched, grouped by session, with how long each clip ran and which workout it belonged to. It syncs through your own iCloud account to your other devices, and it is yours: no account to create, nothing sent to us, and a Delete all data button that means it.
Star the clips you come back to and they are one tap away next time.
HOW IT LOOKS
Light, dark, or follow the device. The video is always on black, because letterbox bars are part of the picture.
NO TRACKING, AND NO SERVER OF OURS
Wand has no account, no analytics, no crash reporter and no advertising. Nothing you watch is visible to anyone but you.
WHAT IS FREE, AND WHAT COSTS
Playing a clip is free and stays free. Your first three sessions from the watch are free too, so you can feel the remote and the workout on your own mat before deciding.
After that, one payment unlocks Wand Pro for good: the watch remote, workouts in Health, your history and your favourites. One payment. No subscription, no account, nothing sent to us.
WHAT YOU NEED
An iPad or an iPhone, and an Apple Watch. The watch app installs through the iPhone paired to your watch, so you need that iPhone once for setup. YouTube playback needs an internet connection. Local files do not.
Wand shows heart rate from your Apple Watch. It is not a medical device and it does not diagnose anything.
