Wind read against the route's own direction: headwind, tailwind, crosswind, section by section Suggested departure windows scored on wind, waves, visibility and daylight Environment Agency river gauges in supported UK areas, with level, trend and recent rainfall Tide predictions, height and trend, plus wave and sea state where available Bathing-water classification and pollution risk where a monitored site exists Storm-overflow monitoring in covered English areas Live and forecast information always clearly labelled

Coverage depends on the data providers. Where a source isn't available, Paddle Routes says so rather than showing an all-clear.

TELL SOMEONE YOUR PLAN

Arm a float plan before you launch, choose your safety contacts and set an expected finish time. If you miss it, they can be notified once the grace period passes. Or share a private Beacon link so someone ashore can see your latest reported position and how recently it updated.

Paddle Routes supports preparation and communication. It is not a monitored emergency service, and it cannot tell you whether the water is safe to paddle.

AI tools are optional. They assist interpretation, can be wrong, and never decide whether a paddle is safe.
