Patina 24 is a slow observation puzzle set in a private archive—not a mahjong matching game, not multiplayer, and not a score chase.

You are the new Curator of The Patina Room. Intake files arrive with groups of vintage mahjong specimens. Your job is to read each tile, build an evidence chain, and decide what belongs together—and what does not.

HOW YOU WORK • Open a Work Order and place specimens on the walnut workbench • Flip faces and backs, zoom sides, and compare thickness and wear • Tag observations across Form, Face, Back, Surface, Group Pattern, and Documentation • Distinguish stable patina from soil, damage, old repair, replacement, and intrusion • Use tools only when the evidence supports treatment—often the right choice is to leave a surface alone • Catalogue the group into your Curator Cabinet with an honest note

Each collection trains a different conservation problem: copies and dust, missing records and later replacements, faded ink, family repairs and cracks, mixed backs and materials, and minimum intervention under exhibition pressure.
